Ski Review 2023/2024: Freeride models over 100 mm

These freeride models are the perfect companions for real powder adventures with deep snow up to your hips. Thanks to their center width of more than 100 millimeters, they can master any challenge in open terrain. The skis tested at this year's WorldSkitest once again impressively demonstrated just how high the quality is in the big mountain sector.

The pros for off-piste adventures

Demanding terrain is no problem for skis in the "Freeride II" category. With more than 100 millimetres under the binding, they offer the necessary buoyancy to master snow up to your hips and steep slopes in the high mountains. Their range of use extends from slopes covered in deep snow to steep, narrow chutes and tree runs.

The models in this freeride category were tested exclusively off-piste. The snow conditions at the WorldSkitest in Silvretta Montafon could not have been better with around 30 centimeters of fresh snow. The test results once again show how high the quality is in this category. This year, however, there was a clear winner.

Target group: 100% off-piste skiers

On groomers, however, you won't have much fun with these big mountain slats. Anyone who is not only skiing off-piste, but also likes to go downhill on groomed slopes, should better look at the "Freeride I - up to 100mm" or "All Mountain" category.
