The Montero line is synonymous with adventure, closeness to nature and versatility. And that’s exactly where the Montero AS fits in – seamlessly. With a waist width of 76 mm, this all-mountain ski is an absolute fun machine that invites you to play with the conditions on the slope. Designed for short to medium radii, the Montero AS impresses with its easy handling and high agility. Appropriately, AS stands for “All-mountain Slalom”. This makes this ski perfect for those who like fast alternating turns without much effort. Say no to boredom and a big yes to varied skiing – all day long.
Technologies
Rocker
The longer bend at the tip and tail of the ski is known as rocker technology. With us, these are specially adapted depending on the type of ski. Typically, the longer and higher the rocker, the more lift is generated and the more playful and maneuverable the ski becomes.
- Better lift in powder snow
- Power saving
- The ski turns more easily on the piste
- Easier edging of the ski
Light Core & Super Light Core
In the all-mountain, freeride and touring sector, special light European wood species are used. This makes the core a little softer and more supple, which gives the ski dynamism and makes it very durable.
- Weight saving due to very light cores
- dynamic skiing characteristics
- very durable
Full Edge Contact
The widest points of the ski are set further forward or further back. As a result, the shovel grips faster and the part of the edge that touches the snow when edged up is longer.
- Easier and faster turn initiation
- Improved grip in the turn thanks to the longer contact surface
Solid Metal Edge Light
The same edge width as the SME. Thanks to a different punching, however, the edge is built less deeply into the ski, which saves weight.
- Longer ski service life
- Less susceptible to damage
- More grinding processes possible
Adaptive Contact Length
The widest point on the tip is set further forward. Together with a slight rocker (longer bend of the shovel), the contact point of the edge to the snow moves further forward the greater the edge angle. This maintains the playful characteristics without sacrificing stability and grip during the turning phase.
- The greater the edging angle, the greater the stability and safety
- Playful and good-natured with a smaller cant angle
Tail rocker
Bending up of the ski tail: flat radius and long bend.
- Playful ski thanks to the increased length of the tail rocker
- Optimum edge grip when edged up thanks to the flat radius of the ski ends
Flex Torsion Control
An S-shaped cut in the aluminum at the tip and tail of the ski ensures that the ski is softer at the front and rear in terms of flex and torsion. On the one hand, this makes it easier to bend in flex, which makes it easier to initiate the turn. On the other hand, you always have the ski under control when changing turns, as the torsion of the ski remains adaptable.
- Improved control when changing direction
- Easier to turn in and out in the turn phase
