Great Options for Fans of Freeride Skiing

Numerous double diamonds at Goat's Eye Mountain boasting wide open terrain and fully ungrommed slopes guarantee 100% powder fun. Anyone who loves to ski around and in between a crazy amount of trees should head down Hell's Kitchen. Absolutely worth it!

For those who want a real challenge, the expert only extreme freeride zone Delirium Dive is where to head to. With slopes ranging upwards of 60 degrees it takes some preparation before you will get approved to shred down one of the world's scariest runs. To enter Delirium Dive you are required to have avalanche knowledge, a backpack, beacon, probe, shovel, and be ridding with a buddy.

Another expert only extreme freeride zone is The Wild West. Like Delirium Dive, to enter the Wild West skiers and snowboarders are required to have a backpack, beacon, probe, shovel, and be ridding with a buddy. Unlike Delirium Dive, the Wild West invites you in, fooling you with rolling powder slopes before choking you in tight, technical, adrenaline pumping terrain.

Compared to Revelstoke or Kicking Horse, where the freeride terrain seem almost endless, Banff Sunshine still has some room for improvement which is why points had to be deducted in this category. Nevertheless, Sunshine offers great options for some neat freeride sessions. When new snow has fallen, there is limitless powder terrain to explore.
