Wenatchee, WA - Mission Ridge officials have announced that the 2010-2011 Season will be a big one especially if you are a Sixth Grader!
This year Mission Ridge is announcing an expansion in our youth effort. Every six grader will receive a Complimentary Sixth Grade Season Pass valid for the entire 2010-2011 season. All that will be required is proof of grade six level such as a report card. There will also be a nominal processing fee of $20.00 (including wsst) This program will be open to all locally, statewide, nationwide and internationally.
“We felt this was the next step in our efforts to keep kids moving especially in the winter,” said Sally Brawley, Mission Ridge Snow Sports Center Director. “This year was our 10th year of the Mountain Discovery Program, our 5th Grade Program that enables us to work in conjunction with our local school districts to provide a FREE day at Mission Ridge enabling students the opportunity to experience winter recreation in a winter mountain environment. It has been a great success with over 1,200 fifth graders annually which adds up to close to 12,000 students in the last decade.”
Mission Ridge as well as ski areas throughout the State and in the country are working hard to come up with programs to get our youth moving. For more specific information about the program check www.missionridge.com where there are a variety of youth programs designed to keep families skiing.
