Miller ends drought in Bormio

Bode Miller celebrated his first victory of the season in Bormio today as he won the tough downhill on the Stelvio course and won his first race since eleven months.

26th World Cup win for Miller
Miller won here on the course where he got his two gold medals 2005 at the World Championships and his 26th World Cup win overall. He beat Andreas Buder by almost half a second. Third was Jan Hudec who was 0,54 seconds behind. Last year´s second placed racer, Didier Cuche, came in 4th ahead of Andrej Jerman of Slovenia. Canada´s Erik Guay finished 8th and was 1,02 seconds behind.

Maier and Walchhofer not in the top ten
Austrian Hermann Maier, who won his first World Cup downhill ten years ago here in Bormio, finished only in 13th place and had another disappointing performance this winter. Also Michael Walchhofer from Austria had a day to forget, as he almost crashed out and was lucky to stay in the course. He was 19th in the end.
