Historical win for Paerson - Riesch takes super combined globe

The third and last super combined event of the season in Crans Montana for the women brought two great winners. Anja Paerson celebrated the victory and Maria Riesch collected her first globe of the career.

Paerson won in all disciplines now
Anja Paerson was the winner of the super combined event in Crans Montana and therefore celebrated her first win since December. The Swede now is one of only four women to win in all alpine olympic disciplines. Paerson beat Germany´s Maria Riesch by 0,20 seconds. Lindsey Vonn was third in the end. Riesch became the first German athlete to win a globe since Hilde Gerg in 2002. The 23-years-old Riesch finished all three Super-combined events of the season on the podium.

Vonn well on her way to the Overall World Cup
Lindsey Vonn was leading the way after the downhill on Sunday but then made some mistakes during the slalom run in the afternoon and fell behind Paerson and Riesch to third place. Vonn still is the main favorite for the win in the Overall World Cup as she is more than 100 points ahead of Riesch and Hosp. Hosp, the defending Overall World Cup champion, is now almost two hundred points behind the American Vonn. Four races are still left this season at the World Cup finals in Bormio, Italy.
