Grange makes sure second triumph
Already in Super-Combined on Friday the French demonstrated his ability to tame the piste. After position 27 in the shortened downhill he climbed to the top in slalom and remained there until the end. This result gave him wings also in the slalom. One day later he repeated his materpiece and scored the second win in a row.

Byggmark strong before Kitzbuehel
After his surprising success in Kitzbuehel 2007 Jens Byggmark had difficulties to get in on in the front this season. But now he came back. Right in time for the fight for the slalom World Cup he achieved the second place behind Grange. Behind him Ted Ligety provided the US team with another great result. He became third and so he did much better than many of the favorites who dropped out in the second run like Austrians Benjamin Raich, Mario Matt as well as Scandinavians Markus Larsson and Kalle Palander. In contrast to them Bode Miller amazed the crowd by celebrating his comeback in slalom with a fifth place.
