Double-Victory for Italy in Bad Kleinkirchheim

Massimiliano Blardone and Manfred Moelgg were on the podium at the Giant Slalom in Bad Kleinkirchheim with Ted Ligety finishing third.

Fanara falls behind
The Italian Blardone had a suberb final run on Saturday to beat his teammate Moelgg by 9/100 of a second. Ligety was 17/100 behind and still has the lead in the GS World Cup standing. The leader after the first run Thomas Fanara of France, had a big mistake in the final and fell behind.

Albrecht still in the Overall World Cup lead
Daniel Albrecht defended his lead in the Overall World Cup ranking with his 5th place just one spot behind Benjamin Raich of Austria, who still waits for his first season win. Kalle Palander and Bode Miller, both experienced and well decorated racer, finished in 6th and 7th place.
