Christoph Gruber triumphs on the Olympic slope

Christoph Gruber won his first race of the season at Whistler Mountain. It is the fifth World Cup victory of his career. In the super G the 32-year-old Austrian crossed the finish line three hundredths of a second ahead of his teammate Hannes Reichelt who made it to the top in Beaver Creek. Ales Gorza (SLO) came in third and was happy about his first World Cup podium ever.

Patrick Staudacher and Erik Guay together on four
Scoring the same time Italy’s reigning World Champion Patrick Staudacher and Canada’s Erik Guay shared the forth place ahead of Swiss team members Didier Defago and Didier Cuche.

Miller claims overall World Cup lead
Cuche still leads in the super G discipline World Cup and also claims his third position in the overall standings. Bode Miller didn´t reach the finish. The US-American hit a pole and got hurt. Nevertheless he is still in front in the overall World Cup standings as also Benni Raich couldn´t rank among the top ten.
